Amazing

Overslept 💤

Got in the wrong train. Twice.

Wore blouse inside out and only realized it because nosey old lady kept staring 😂

But contrary to what reality is throwing at my face, I do believe this will be a super-fabulous day full of blessings and good luck from the universe.

This is not a rubbish day. This is a great day ❤️❤️❤️

Wise

I was on a frenetic pace of activities on that morning, when I saw them.

I froze. “How come I didn’t see you before?” I asked myself. Indeed, I had walked this path before never paying attention. I stayed there as if introducing myself. I smiled and started taking photos because sometimes the most beautiful things in life can be overlooked.

And sometimes the smallest things can be the greatest experiences of your day.

Red: Chinatown

It was a sunny warm day, a perfect day to meet a friend. We met at an old train station and made our way into Chinatown or ChĹŤkagai (中華街) as it’s known in Japan.

As time passed, we felt the urge of a snack and lucky us, Chinatown is not only known for its beautiful architecture but its cuisine as well. And even the simplest of meals is not only a treat for your palette but the eyes, too. A delightful piece of heaven wrapped in red — the colour of Chinatown.

There’s a skyrocket in the living room

Drawing by @Yoneko Shiraishi

The alarm clock wakes me up, and I get up to get myself a cup of coffee, as I do every morning. But this is not any morning, because today, there’s a skyrocket in the living room.

I mean that’s not unusual is it? I mean, who hasn’t woken up to find a skyrocket in their living room once or twice in their lives.

I boil water and the captivating aroma of coffee brings awareness to my mind.

There’s indeed a skyrocket in my living room!! And next to it a space suit. How curious!

I get into the skyrocket. And it’s surprisingly cozy, it has a well-stocked library, with ALL my favorite books and movies. A little kitchenette with enough biscuits and tea to last a lifetime.

And in the control board, there’s a gigantic red button. So big, it’s taken almost the whole board.

“Good morning,” says my husband “what’s this?” he asks while his curious eyes find the suit next to the skyrocket.

“I’ve no idea,” I reply

He takes the space suit and puts it on.

“It suits you nicely,” I said

He doesn’t reply, but smiles joyfully.

And I sit in the chair in front of the red button, my fingers start playing with it. And I push it.

Immediately, the door shuts and the machine comes to live with a thunderous roar. I can’t turn it off. My husband grabs the cable next to the skyrocket, he’s coming, too. This is all confusing but in this new beginning, where we don’t know where we will go, we will have new experiences and new adventures together.

Accidental findings: City Jewells

I’m back home now and the warm day is quieter than ever, the wind blows peacefully and I, a person who suffers from a terrible allergy to sports, decide to move-move it a little bit. And luck is on my side because I after a few minutes of “exercise” I find this magnificent temple.

The colours are striking. Gold and red united in beautiful structures that call for worshiping. I try not to disturb the pious people who pray and open their hearts in this sacred place.

But they don’t seem to mind the strange woman who restlessly takes pictures of this enchanting place, and even takes shots of the leaves.

In this city jewell, there are treasures.

There are also Gods and guardians, who wish to welcome the world.

And I’m glad I took these pictures because I’m not sure this place really exists. Or maybe it was a dream for I haven’t been able to find it again.

Doors

I know it might sound silly, but has it ever happened to you that when seeing a door, especially an old door, you start wondering what kind of fascinating stories might unfold behind it?

I think old doors, and buildings have silent voices that quietly reveal their journeys and fates.

Sometimes, I wonder if some of these doors are actually the entrance to secret corridors that could take armies to secure refuges in castles around Tokyo.

I just love wondering and open my imagination to the impossible.

May 1st, 2019

Today, May 1st 2019, Reiwa, the new Japanese era has started. Today, there’s enthusiasm in the air, and I wanted to be part of it. So, I took my camera and made my way into the main districts.

At times, I found subtle silence and others, excited crowds looking for magic.

In my little stroll around the city, I also found silent and traditional beauty

Some older than others.

But all accompanying us in this new era.

The hidden ninja

I started with small lines, one at the time. And slowly, a ninja came to exist in the universe of my creations.

I’m pleased with it. I feel surprisingly content.
